Welcome to Scottsville Counseling Center! Our team offers a variety of experiences and services to help support you in your journey, and my training blends experience in both counseling practice (including supervision) and psychology. With over 8 years of experience in the field of counseling, I have acquired extensive experience in crisis intervention and training new therapists. Currently, I am in the final stages of completing my Doctor of Psychology degree and becoming a Licensed Psychologist, allowing me to offer specialized testing and assessments.
Between my experience and my advanced skillset, I possess a wide range of tools to support my clients. As a clinician, I explore the problem thoroughly with the client to gain the clearest and most accurate understanding possible. I then work to tailor my style to best match the individual client's needs while staying relatable and straightforward. My passion for testing and assessment in particular stems from a recognition that people often hide from themselves or are unable to fully describe their experience on their own. High-quality and evidence-based assessments help reveal and pinpoint different elements like strengths, opportunities for growth, challenge areas in relating to environmental factors and more. Once identified, they can be more effectively harnessed or addressed in treatment. Clients may also choose to share their results with related healthcare or community professionals to provide support in obtaining resources beyond therapy that may support their wellbeing.
